20 years ago, the owner, Darren, moved to Colorado with his wife, searching for a new perspective. Here, he discovered a love of the mountains, a strong, passionate family, and a deep commitment to community and the environment.
He began his journey as a licensed roofer, working alongside local roofers and contractors. When he discovered his passion for natural lighting and sustainable energy, he started Heinsight Solutions out of his home on July 4th, 2004. Three years later, the business had grown exponentially. Darren moved into an office in Old Town Fort Collins, and continued to share his passion with the community and with the business team he had developed. It was here that Darren achieved the great feat of becoming the only VELUX 5-star Certified installer in Northern Colorado and Wyoming. Soon after moving to Old Town, the workload began to get bigger, so Darren hired Jennie as an office manager. Together, they worked tirelessly on the continued expansion of the company and the community. Jennie was an instrumental force in helping Heinsight use more online and smart phone technology, increasing efficiency, communication, and trouble shooting ability. As our need to expand pushed us past our space limits at our old town location, this all-star team relocated once more to our current location off Timberline and Mulberry. Here, we use our warehouse to keep local roofers and contractors supplied with VELUX skylights and Sun Tunnels.
Heinsight’s service area has exploded geographically, and we now cover all of Larimer County, including Estes Park, Weld county, and Boulder county. In addition, Darren has made distance trips to Lander WY, and Fort Morgan. We also provide service calls for all Velux products in our service area and will be able to help with any issues you may have.
Our Five-Star rating puts us in instant touch with corporate Velux and Regional Representatives whenever consultation is needed on complicated issues. Darren completed his Five-Star training in North Carolina which gave him all of the information he needed to ensure proper, safe installation of all Velux products. In addition, Darren has worked closely with planning and zoning professionals with the City of Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley. He works closely with roofing contractors and building contractors to coordinate repairs, replacements, or installations during roof replacement or building projects, to minimize the impact on the homeowner and to reduce labor and materials costs.
Beyond the business, Darren’s passion can be seen through his involvement in the Sustainable Living Association and on his own home, which includes 14 skylights! Each year that our community grows, Darren gets one step closer to making a difference through energy efficient means and natural balance. Darren has brought his knowledge of sustainable lighting and energy to the community, by donating materials and expertise for science and technology programs in classrooms in the Poudre School District. Heinsight believes that a strong local economy helps everyone prosper, and actively donates to non-profit groups in the area.
Today, the Heinsight Solutions crew consists of our install team, Darren, Alex and TJ, and our office team, Jennie and Leighanna.
